Why removing makeup at night is so important.

Sleeping in your makeup can result in unnecessary exposure to the free radicals in the environment, which the makeup holds on to, Free radicals cause the breakdown of healthy collagen, Additionally, makeup can clog the pores while you sleep.

Will it cause skin to age prematurely?
During the day you accumulate a lot of oxidative stress, When you sleep in your makeup you are not giving your skin a chance to recover from those insults, which can lead to premature aging. Free radicals cause collagen breakdown over time, which results in the development of fine lines and prematurely aged skin.

If you just sleep in eye makeup (mascara, eyeliner), is it still as bad?

Take it off. Sometimes we get too tired to wipe our makeup off before we go to bed, but leaving mascara on your lashes overnight does more harm than you know. When the mascara dries overnight, it can cause your lashes to dry out and snap, also stiff eyelashs can actually scratch your cornea while you’re sleeping.

Why remove your makeup and cleanse your face?

Makeup removal should be part of your daily skin care ritual  because it is good for your skin. Here are the specific benefits:

•    It washes away cosmetics , impurities and dirt from the surface of your skin, which could lead to irritation or cause your skin to age more rapidly.
•    It reduces the risk of developing pimples, redness, blackheads and other types of blemishes.
•    It promotes cellular renewal by eliminating dead skin.
•    It stimulates skin’s microcirculation due to the massage action.
•    It lets your skin breathe.

By cleansing your face well, you will discover the joy of fresh, toned, supple and well-moisturized skin, even if you wear just a little makeup or none at all. As you can see, there are plenty of good reasons to add this step to your beauty routine!

While the act of sleeping in your makeup may not cause an infection, if you already have an active skin abrasion, such as an inflamed acne pimple, it’s possible that an infection can occur because your skin barrier is compromised. Don’t forget our skin is our first line of defense against infections, so look after it the best way possible like starting with a good makeup removing cleanser.
