For healthier, gorgeous skin, abide by these do’s and don’ts in 2022.
Do you make goals every year only to have them fall off the radar? It’s time for a fresh start and an even fresher face. These simple skincare goals will leave you with long-term improvements and a glowing complexion.
1. Double Cleanse

Are you already cleansing? Why don’t you upgrade your routine to double cleanse! While the first cleanse gets rid of surface impurities, the second cleanse targets specific skin concerns! Double cleansing can also improve the efficacy of your other skincare products. We love the Dp Dermaceuticals Tri Phase Cleanser, Gentle Antioxidant Cleanser or Micellar Treatment Gel by O Cosmedics. Check with your skin coach which one is right for you.

2. SPF every-single-day

FACT: Nothing ages you more than the sun. Slathering sunscreen throughout the day helps protect you from the sun’s harmful UV rays and should be applied even when you have no plans to go outside for the day. Simply put, if you’re using any other skincare products, they are essentially not going to work effectively without daily sunscreen use.

Our most-loved tinted SPF 30 skin protectors are the Suntegrity 5-in-1 Tinted Moisturising Sunscreen and O Cosmedics Mineral Pro (also available in a clear version).

3. Start using a Serum

If you haven’t already, incorporating a serum like the O Cosmedics B3 Plus Serum or Vitamin C Hemp Seed Oil into your routine directly after cleansing will work wonders! Loaded with active ingredients, serums target specific skin conditions like ageing and pigmentation.

4. Hands off!

When you touch your face, you’re introducing a plethora of dirt and bacteria to your face. This is one of the best resolutions you can make if you’re prone to oily skin and breakouts as you’ll not only stop new breakouts from forming but prevent current ones from becoming inflamed.

5. Check your order

Wait—are you doing your routine in the right order? By using products in their optimal order, you’ll maximise their absorption and efficacy and not freak out your skin. After cleansing use products in the following order: serums, eye cream, spot treatments, hydrator, face oil. Allow time between each application to allow it to absorb. In the morning end your routine with SPF30+ and in the evening you can incorporate a retinol after your hydrator and before your face oil.

6. Remove your makeup at night

After a night out, it can be tempting to jump into bed without removing makeup, but it’s not doing your skin any favours. Dirt and free radicals get trapped that can prematurely age skin. To remove makeup at night, use a gentle cleanser that feels silky but is going to effectively remove all of your makeup. Follow up with a double cleanse with a Micellar Treatment Gel.

7. Love your body

Body care is the most underrated skin category there is, however, the skin on our body deserves replenishment and care too! Start by regularly massaging in the luxurious Laclious Body cream or Scrub when you have your shower or bath to slough away dead skin cells.

8. Catch some Zzzzzs

Getting a good night’s sleep is incredibly important for your health including your skin. In fact, it’s just as important as eating a balanced, nutritious diet and exercising. Studies have shown that those who sleep 7-9 hours per night have more naturally hydrated, youthful skin that can protect and heal itself more effectively. This is because the skin goes into regeneration mode at night, so the more time you spend in bed, the more time your skin has to boost collagen and reverse damage.

9. Get your skin analyzed by a professional

10. Love your skin!

While there might always be something you want to change, our skin is a part of us. So, make sure to remember how beautifully unique it is and that it deserves a whole lot of love.
